- When an unregistered PolyView is started with a slide show script as its command line
argument the "unregistered reminder screen" will be suppressed at the end of the

distributing slide shows on CD to people who have not purchased PolyView.
- Added the Rescale image after cropping option to the General tab of Properties.
When this item is selected an image will be scaled to fit the PolyView window area after a
cropping operation.
- Fixed a problem with invoking the Keywords command on the Edit menu
when browsing large folders in the folder browser or Thumbnail Explorer.

- Added Specific Size printing to an images Print commands. Images
can now be printed in any size from postage stamps to large posters.
- Original Size image printing uses the source (scanner) specified dimensional
information to print an image at its original size. If the size is larger than the
printers page size it will now result in a multiple page printout. Also, Original
Size image printing now uses the Page Setup commands
margin/header/footer settings.
- Added a Fade effect to the Slide Show Transition Effects, and as a
method for dissolving a slide show image from the screen.

- All pertinent PolyView settings are now saved in the slide show script when a slide show

- Added the Continuous folder update option to the Browsing tab of Properties
to provide the capability of running a slide show that constantly displays the changing
contents of a folder.
- The window sizing algorithms have been updated to better utilize screen space when
images are displayed with one-to-one (100%) scaling.
- Windows XP specific EXIF items are now processed and displayed. These include the Title,
Comment, Author, Keywords, and Subject information that can be entered from the Properties
dialog displayed by the Windows XP Explorer.
- Non-image files are now passed directly to Windows for opening when they are
double-clicked from a browser or the Thumbnail Explorer. This includes multimedia
files (MP3, MPG, WAV, etc.) as well as any other document formats that can be opened by

specific icon for such files in place of the Thumbnail not available notation

- The Filter by Name and Change Name Filter commands have been added to
the View menu for the folder browser. The settings for the name filter are shared
between the folder browser and the Thumbnail Explorer. In addition, the settings
are now saved between PolyView sessions.
- The current viewing scale and image position are kept constant when paging through
multipage image files if the page being changed to has the same dimensions as the page
currently being viewed.
- The Saturation Adjust command has been added to an open images Operations
menu. Saturation Adjust is a slider controlled version of the current Color+
and Color- commands.
- Added an Enhanced display mode to the General tab of Properties.
Enhanced mode provides the best accuracy when displaying large color or grayscale
images.
- The Enable interpolated zoom option on the General tab of Properties
now only controls the way zoomed displays are handled and does not create a new window
during zooming.

- Flat toolbars: the default state of PolyView when running on Windows XP is to hide the
capability of selecting flat toolbars. If you are using the "classic" mode of

that file is not found then the Use flat toolbars option on the General

- The Keyword Entry Dialog, invoked from the Keyword command on the Edit
menu, now remains open as the currently selected image is changed in a browser, or as new
images are opened. As the current image selection is changed the dialog is updated to
reflect the keyword(s) of the new image or image combination.
- When multiple images are selected, the Keyword Entry Dialog now shows the
combination of keywords that are common to all the selected images. Keywords that are not
common to all the images will not be affected by any changes made.
- The Keyword List Maintenance command on the Edit menu now invokes the Keyword
Maintenance dialog. This dialog provides methods of removing and changing keywords.
- The Create or Modify a Slide Show window is now resizable on systems with
screen resolutions greater than 800x600.
- The image preview area on the Create or Modify a Slide Show window now shows
the image preview with the rotation specified for that image.
- Added support for Canon EOS-1D and EOS D60 camera RAW (CRW) files. Note that all Canon
CRW support in PolyView Version 3.80 requires a new download of the PolyView
CRW Support Library.
- The Transparent Color command on the Operations menu is now enabled
for images with one bit per pixel.
- The Optimize JPEG Quality dialog now uses the previous optimization quality
setting as the starting point for optimization. Previously it always started with the
global quality value defined on the JPEG tab of the Properties dialog.
- Saving JPEG format images now uses a DCT Arithmetic Method with at least the
accuracy of the Accurate Integer setting on the JPEG tab of the Properties
dialog. This maximizes the quality of the saved image at a given quality setting without
increasing the file size.
- Added %s as a text substitution specifier when adding text annotations to an
image. The %s specifier is replaced by the file name of the image without the
file type extension. For example, "Mountains.jpg" will be output as
"Mountains".
- Adobe Photoshop (PSD) images with 16 bits per channel (48 bit color and 16 bit
grayscale) are now supported for both read and write.
- The Next In Folder and Previous In Folder commands on the View
menu are now enabled when the current image is an animated GIF.
- A warning dialog is now output when the thumbnail database size gets dangerously close
to the 2 gigabyte file size limit.
- Fixed a problem where sound file names were not being written in relative format when a

- The Optimize JPEG Quality command has been added to the Options menu
for an open image. The Optimize JPEG Quality command helps to determine the
optimum tradeoff between image quality and compression that should be used when storing an
image in JPEG format.
- Thumbnail album files can now be saved using relative file naming to make them
distributable on a CD.
- Copy (Control-C), Cut (Control-X), Paste (Control-V), and Undo (Control-Z) shortcut keys

is valid for the current locale. This individual preference can be set through the Regional
and Language Options applet in the Windows Control Panel.

- Updated the Canon CRW library support to handle raw images
from the Canon G2 camera.
- Thumbnail albums can now contain multiple copies of the same images thumbnail.
This feature complements the albums Paste command (Edit menu) that

- Canon CRW image file handling changes
- The noise (false color) filter used during Canon EOS D30 raw image processing can now be
suppressed by an option on the Canon CRW tab of the Properties dialog.
Turning off this filter speeds up D30 image processing significantly.
- Canon EOS D30 raw images now retain the full 12 bit per color component resolution of
the original image.

- Adobe Photoshop PSD images containing adjustment layers are now processed with a
